Obituary

William Hugh Menzies, born April 13, 1949, passed away due to cancer, at the age of 69 on Friday, December 21, 2018 at Calvary Hospital in the Bronx.
William was born in Belize City, Belize to Edwin Menzies and Elma Chessman. He was predeceased by his parents, brother Edwin (Beeb) Menzies, sister Rose Pandy and wife Millicent Menzies. He is survived by 9 siblings: Arthur, Dudley, Kathleen, Lillian, Robert, Norman, Samuel, Marcella and Edith. William was an uncle to well over 50 Nieces, Nephews, gran nieces and nephews and leaves behind an uncountable number of cousins and friends.
William grew up in Belize where he attended Holy Redeemer. He left for New York City as a young man and before long, began working for Zyloware, Inc. William was employed by Zyloware for 43 years and was so beloved that the company told him to enjoy an early start to his retirement and supported him in making it happen.
In retirement, William resided both in Belize City (the land of his heart) and Manhattan, NY (the city of his choosing).
Many, if not all of us, remember William providing natural remedies to cure everyday illnesses. So it should come as no surprise that he selected cremation over burial. In alignment with his wishes, his ashes will be returned to Belize for spreading.
While there is no Memorial fund established for William, the family asks that you consider a donation to either Memorial Sloan Kettering or Calvary Hospital in his honor. Both of which were instrumental in the treatment, comfort and support that William received.
Thank you for coming today and as you think of William, remember he was an open, loving and generous man!

I'm sorry your loss. It's never easy to cope with one of the most damaging things to deal with in life. I just thought I might share something that helped me cope with the loss of a loved one. Revelation 21:3,4 talks about a time when the disease called death will be no more. It says that it will be a thing of the past. Furthermore, the bible tells us at John 5:28,29 that our loved ones will come back to life on earth. Hold on to these truths to uplift you and and your family in such difficult circumstances. The God of all comfort will carry you through.
